The Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Case Worker to join our growing Business Rates Department.
Working closely with the Head of Department and your colleagues, you will manage a portfolio of Business Rates cases, liaise with clients and external organisations, and ensure every case is handled efficiently, professionally, and in line with compliance requirements.
Whether you already have experience in Business Rates or are looking to develop a career in the industry, we provide full training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Case Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Business Rates cases from initial instruction through to completion.
- Gathering and assessing case information to determine eligibility.
- Setting up and maintaining client records on the case management system.
- Updating VOA case spreadsheets and internal databases.
- Liaising with clients, local councils, the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), and other professional organisations.
- Drafting contracts and client correspondence.
- Responding to client enquiries in accordance with the company's Terms of Business.
- Ensuring all cases comply with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting Directors, the Head of Department, Line Managers, and colleagues across the business.
- Carrying out research and providing administrative support where required.
- Assisting with general office duties including answering calls, filing, scanning, printing, post handling, and document management.
- Attending team and business meetings.
- Undertaking additional administrative and ad hoc duties as required.
What We're Looking For
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
We're looking for someone who is:

- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptable and able to learn quickly.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional when building and maintaining client relationships.
- Knowledgeable of GDPR principles (desirable).
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative.
- Committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
