Role Overview
Reporting to the Venue General Manager and Group Finance Director, the Accounts Controller will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting accuracy, and supporting operational decision-making across the venue.
This role combines hands-on financial control with process improvement, ensuring robust systems and timely, insightful reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Implement and maintain robust purchase controls, including PO systems, chef purchasing processes, and invoice reconciliation
- Establish and monitor controls across all revenue streams, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Strengthen food & beverage controls, including revenue capture, stock management, and reconciliation processes
Systems & Integration
- Oversee and optimise the integration between Mews, EPOS Now, IVVY, and Xero
- Support the implementation of new systems to improve efficiency and reporting capability
Cash & Revenue Management
- Oversee daily and weekly cash and card reconciliations
- Monitor and manage cash flow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Develop clear, relevant reporting to support the management team in decision-making
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis
Process Improvement
- Continuously review and improve financial processes and controls across the venue
- Support the wider management team in embedding best practices
Person Specification
- Proven experience in a finance role within hospitality or a multi-revenue environment
- Studying towards or qualified in a professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, AAT)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with financial systems and process improvement
Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
