Receptionist and Administrative Assistant
Salary: £26,436 per annum
40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Interview date: week commencing 6th of July.
Evening and weekend working will be required to meet the business and guest needs, as our Reception is open seven days a week. You must be flexible to cover a rota which will include weekends with availability for working hours between 08:00 - 18:00.
Emerson College has a successful history in providing a range of courses from Rudolf Steiner education, medical insights and the arts. There are over sixty beds onsite as well as meeting rooms, workshop spaces and beautiful grounds. In addition to providing high quality courses and workshops, Emerson College promotes venue hire and private functions.
Delivering high levels of customer service, ensuring all guests continue to receive a high-quality guest experience during their visit to Emerson College. You will work closely with the Revenue and Events Manager and administration functions contributing to the continued development of the college offerings.
In this role you will:
- Provide a professional, friendly, and welcoming reception service for all visitors, students, and guests, ensuring they are greeted warmly and directed appropriately.
- Manage telephone and email enquiries efficiently, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up of messages.
- Support the smooth running of the College shop, maintaining stock, presentation, and alignment with Emerson College’s ethos.
- Deliver high-quality administrative support, including data entry, correspondence, meeting preparation, minute taking, and assisting with events, festivals, and College functions.
We are looking for someone:
- With experience in administration and/or reception, ideally within a busy and customer-facing environment.
- Has proven experience in hospitality and managing bookings.
- With strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, students, and visitors.
- Who is organised, flexible, and able to manage a varied workload with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- With motivation, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach, willing to support tasks ranging from everyday administration to festivals, events, and hospitality.
- Who can demonstrate a high level of flexibility, including the ability to work evenings and weekends in line with operational requirements.
