Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering their development. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where early childhood education and care are prioritised. The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure high standards of safety, learning, and wellbeing are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily centre operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote children's development and learning.
- Supervise and motivate nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teamwork.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of childcare, safety, and hygiene within the centre.
- Engage positively with children, parents, and carers, fostering strong relationships built on trust and open communication.
- Organise staff rotas, monitor attendance, and assist in recruitment processes when necessary.
- Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments.
- Support staff training programmes to promote continuous professional development in early childhood education.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the centre’s environment and educational offerings.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
- Experience working directly with children and understanding of child development principles.
- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative independently.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between centres or community engagement activities.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
