Social Worker – Children & Families | Child Protection & Locality Social Work
Location: Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire
Pay Rate: £42 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary / Locum Social Work Role
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Children & Families Social Worker to join a busy locality social work team in Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire. This is a locum social work opportunity within statutory children’s services, covering child protection, children in need (CIN), and family support interventions.
This role is suited to an experienced children’s social worker who is confident managing complex caseloads within a fast-paced local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities – Children’s Social Work / Child Protection
- Manage a caseload of Child Protection, Children in Need (CIN), and family support cases
- Undertake statutory social work assessments in line with Scottish legislation and guidance
- Develop, implement, and review child protection and care plans
- Carry out home visits and direct work with children, young people, and families
- Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and multi-agency partners
- Attend child protection case conferences, core groups, and review meetings
- Maintain accurate and timely case recording and statutory documentation
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for children and families
Essential Requirements – Children’s Social Work Jobs Scotland
- Qualified Social Worker registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- Experience within Children & Families social work, including child protection and CIN
- Strong understanding of Scottish child protection legislation and procedures
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a locality team setting
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report writing skills
Working Pattern
This role may offer hybrid working depending on service requirements, with flexibility considered within the locality team structure.
