HGV Class 1 & Class 2 Driver – Waste & Recycling
Location: North WestJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSchedule: Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
- Class 1: Optional nights out available.
- Class 2: Optional 6th working day available.
About the Role
We are looking for experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 and Class 2 Drivers to join our growing waste and recycling operation.
Depending on your licence, you will be driving either:
- Class 1: Articulated Walking Floor Trailers
- Class 2: Rigid 8-Wheeled Tipper Vehicles
You will be responsible for transporting waste, recyclable materials, aggregates and other bulk materials between customer sites, transfer stations and recycling facilities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles.
- Transport waste and recyclable materials efficiently and safely.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and defect reporting.
- Ensure loads are secure and transported in compliance with legislation.
- Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
- Comply with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Digital Tachograph requirements.
- Maintain excellent health and safety standards at all times.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and site staff.
- Keep vehicles clean and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) or HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and Tachograph Regulations.
- Previous experience in waste, recycling, tipper or walking floor work is desirable but not essential.
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
