Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised SMSTS Manager to oversee and coordinate health and safety management on construction sites. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, promote a safe working environment, and lead safety initiatives across multiple projects. A background in construction experience is highly desirable to support technical safety assessments and risk management. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks, fostering a culture of safety awareness among all site personnel.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure safety standards are upheld throughout all phases of construction.
- Manage incident investigations, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Ensure all site activities adhere to current legislation including CDM regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an SMSTS Manager or similar role within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to construction projects in the UK.
- Construction experience is highly desirable to facilitate technical assessments related to works on-site.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with diverse teams including contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies.
