Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee our housekeeping team at The Ropewalks Hotel. The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and meet our quality standards. This role involves managing staff schedules, conducting inspections, and ensuring efficient workflow to provide an outstanding guest experience.
Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager & Assistant Manager, the role of the Housekeeping Supervisor is to lead the Housekeeping Team to maintain the exceptional standards throughout Ropewalks Hotel giving guests a wow factor on arrival and a pleasurable experience for the duration of their stay.
Duties of Role
Supervision of Housekeeping Team:
- Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team, including room attendants, linen porters and housekeepers, ensuring they adhere to hotel standards and procedures.
- Assist in staff recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing performance reviews.
Quality Control and Inspections:
- Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation are maintained.
- Address and rectify any issues or deficiencies promptly and conduct follow-up inspections as needed.
Workflow Management:
- Plan and assign daily tasks to housekeeping staff, ensuring efficient time management and proper coverage of all areas.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as required to meet hotel occupancy demands.

Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment, while maintaining budgetary control.
Guest Service and Satisfaction:
- Respond to guest requests, concerns, or complaints regarding housekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to provide exceptional guest experiences.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all housekeeping activities comply with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Provide regular safety training to team members, ensuring proper use of equipment and chemicals.

Skills and Experience Required
- Attention to detail with an eye for cleanliness and order.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills. Ability to motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor at a 4* hotel is desirable but not essential.
