Food & Beverage Supervisor Mere Court Hotel
Mere Court Hotel is a busy and well-established independent 4-star hotel with 34 bedrooms, a strong reputation for exceptional hospitality, and a thriving weddings, events, and functions business. We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Food & Beverage Supervisor to support the daily operation of our restaurant, bar, weddings, and events departments.
This is a highly operational role suited to an energetic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences across all areas of food and beverage service.
The Role
As Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, with a strong focus on weddings, functions, conferences, and large-scale events.
You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring service standards are consistently delivered to the highest level while supporting, motivating, and supervising the wider F&B team. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage busy operations while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of all food and beverage services, including restaurant, bar, weddings, conferences, private events, and functions
- Lead service during busy operational periods and large events, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery at all times
- Support the management team in overseeing weddings and functions from setup through to completion
- Ensure all event rooms and service areas are prepared and presented to the highest standard
- Lead, motivate, and support the food and beverage team during service
- Train and develop team members to maintain excellent customer service standards
- Ensure guests receive professional, friendly, and attentive service at all times
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and operational challenges efficiently and professionally
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen, reception, wedding coordinators, and management team to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage
- Support labour control and efficient staffing levels during events and service periods
- Ensure all licensing, food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures are adhered to
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational checks
- Support duty management responsibilities when required
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation across all F&B areas
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Events Supervisor, or similar hospitality leadership role
- Experience working within weddings, functions, banqueting, or high-volume event operations is essential
- Strong operational knowledge of food and beverage service
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the front
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy hospitality environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
