Job Overview:
Due to continued growth, We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer from a HVAC services background to join our HVAC Projects team.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working on multiple projects alongside HVAC Surveyors, working closely with the clients to identify their requirements, design a solution and support the Sales team with pricing in preparation for Installation. This is a full-time role based in Hull, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position is primarily office-based, with some site visits required.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend site surveys and clients/architect/contractor meetings to get an understanding of the client’s requirements
- Complete any and all necessary calculations such as airflow rates/duct sizes etc
- Propose and design a system that meets the client’s brief
- Liaise closely with manufacturers and suppliers to produce a fully costed technical proposal
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications
- Create a full bill of materials
- Create a drawing pack
- Provide technical support during installation
- On completion produce as fitted drawings
- Analysis and interpret data
Skills & Experience
- HVAC Design background, with substantial experience as a design engineer within mechanical services. You must have experience of air movement.
- Familiar with UK Building Regulations and design standards
- Experience designing solutions for Commercial/Industrial/Retail
- Full competent user of CAD
- The ability to build positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- Presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong computer and mathematical skills
