Schedule: 5 days out of 7, flexibility required, including evenings, weekends, on-call and emergency cover when needed

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a Children’s Residential Home, delivering exceptional care and outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader with proven experience in residential childcare, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance to shape a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where young people can thrive.
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care in line with OFSTED regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and maintain registration as the Registered Manager with OFSTED
- Lead the home to achieve and sustain high-quality inspection outcomes
- Provide effective day-to-day operational management of the home
- Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding legislation, and quality standards
- Manage budgets, financial oversight, and resource allocation effectively
- Lead, supervise, develop, and inspire Deputy Managers, Seniors, and Residential Support Workers
- Oversee safer recruitment, staff induction, training, and ongoing professional development
- Develop a therapeutic, trauma-informed, child-centred culture
- Ensure robust care planning, risk assessments, referrals, admissions, and transitions
- Build strong partnerships with social workers, commissioners, education, CAMHS, and external agencies
- Champion the voice, rights, and participation of children and young people
- Maintain high standards in health & safety, quality assurance, and service improvement
About You
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards it
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within children’s residential care within the last 5 years
- At least 1 year in a leadership/management role supervising staff
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, child development, and residential childcare legislation
- Proven experience leading teams in regulated environments
- Experience managing safeguarding incidents, budgets, staffing, and service development
- Ability to create positive, aspirational, and nurturing environments for young people
- Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
