Now Education is recruiting an experienced Attendance Officer to join a large, well-established mainstream secondary school in South Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous school attendance experience who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and is looking to develop their career within a pastoral setting.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's attendance strategy, working closely with students, parents, pastoral teams and senior leaders to improve attendance across the school.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and analysing student attendance data.
- Following up on absences and punctuality concerns.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding attendance issues.
- Conducting attendance meetings and maintaining accurate records.
- Using school management systems, including SIMS, to record and track attendance information.
- Supporting whole-school attendance initiatives and campaigns.
- Working collaboratively with pastoral staff, safeguarding teams and senior leaders to raise attendance levels and reduce persistent absence.
- Producing attendance reports and identifying trends to support intervention strategies.
