We operate our own fleet of trucks and trailers, from Eye and Grangemouth, Scotland. We pride ourselves on our professional, customer friendly and reliable services to all our clientele.
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team, delivering palletised glass materials in curtain siders, collecting containers from UK ports to various UK locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, maintaining vehicle compliance, and providing a professional service to customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in line with road transport legislation and company procedures.
· Carry out daily walk-round checks and report any defects promptly.
· Ensure loads are secure and transported safely to the correct destination.
· Complete delivery paperwork, digital records and tachograph requirements accurately.
· Plan routes effectively and communicate any delays, issues or changes to the transport office.
· Follow all Working Time Directive, driver hours and health and safety requirements.
· Represent the business professionally when dealing with customers, sites and members of the public.
Requirements
· Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence. Minimum 2 years relevant HGV experience. Over 25 years old, for insurance restrictions.
· Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
· Good knowledge of UK road transport regulations and driver hours rules.
· A professional, punctual and dependable approach to work.
· Good communication skills and the ability to complete paperwork accurately.
· Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights or weekends, if required.
· No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving convictions.
