Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing for those in their care. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Support clients with medication reminders and ensure their safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, respecting individual dietary needs
- Maintain accurate care plans tailored to each client’s specific requirements
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ wellbeing
- Assist with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
- Document observations and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour promptly
- Support clients with outings or appointments, utilising driving skills where necessary
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence and the ability to drive clients safely when required
- Experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable
- Knowledge of developing and following care plans tailored to individual needs
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards clients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
