Quality Assurance Supervisor
Work Hours
Full-Time: 45hrs per week
Shift Pattern: Mon to Fri (days) some flexibility is required.
Rate of Pay- Based on experience (Weekly pay)
Who we are:
At David Wood Foods we have over 20 years’ experience in the bakery business, and if one thing is clear about our company it’s that we’re passionate about baking.
We currently produce a range of quality frozen 'bake off' and craft bakery products encompassing Savoury Pastry, Sweet Pastry, Bread, Morning Goods and Confectionery products from seven cutting-edge bakeries around the UK.
About the role:
Your role as QA Supervisor is to ensure the safety, legality & quality of all products sold by the company.
You will manage product specifications, implement and review HACCP, arrange product testing and analyse results, log and investigate customer complaints, completion of technical paperwork, provide information to customers as requested plus prepare for and assist with third-party audits and maintain required standards.
Responsibilities
- Implement into all factory areas the standards by which the Company operates and seek to raise them continuously (includes production, goods in, engineering, process…)
- Training of staff against the systems and procedures in place
- Attending trials to create product standards in conjunction with NPD and Production Dept.
- Investigation of Factory non-conformances
- Investigation of customer complaints and implementation of corrective and preventative actions based on trending and analysis of data
- Working with production to validate all processes and procedures
- Document control
- Supplier Approval + NCR
- Managing the technical indicators
- Carrying out internal and hygiene audits in conjunction with the appropriate departmental managers to verify that the factory is complying to all customer codes of practice and BRC standards
- Responsibility for pest control across the whole site
- Reviewing internal Work Instructions and practices vs. customer codes of practice / BRC requirements to implement and train any required changes
- Raising NCR'S-helping to investigate when needed and closing them off
- Root cause team & data analysis
- GMP trending
Experience Required:
- Experience of working within food industry
- knowledge of customer codes or practice and BRC requirements
- Experience of Quality Management Systems
- Degree educated or equivalent in Food Technology (ideal but not essential)
- HACCP trained
- Great communication skills
