Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to join our team in Luddendenfoot, near Halifax. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our shop-fitting and maintenance projects, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Organising and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient yard
- Assisting with general yard duties and basic maintenance tasks
- Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment
- Delivering and collecting goods between sites, suppliers, and the yard
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion
- Support delivery drivers with logistics and routes
- Supporting waste management and recycling procedures
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Report any equipment or safety issues to management
- Basic Stock Control - Goods In/Out
Qualifications
- Valid full manual driving license (clean preferred)
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment is an advantage (essential)
- Physically fit, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team (essential)
- Experience in driving and operating vehicles (essential)
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork (essential)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (essential)
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus (preferred)
- Safety-conscious and committed to high standards of work (essential)
- Experience using Excel Spreadsheets (preferred)
