Overview
Our Client based in Sharpness are seeking a skilled Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate would Ideally have VNA experience and will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform the role safely. Previous warehouse experience and forklift certification are essential for this position.
Days of work : Monday to Friday
Hours of Work: 6-2 /2-10
Pay Rate : £14.05
Must have a valid current counterbalance forklift licence (not in -house). VNA experience would also be an advantage.
Own transport essential due to location
Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from lorries, pallets, or containers, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Utilise the warehouse management system to track inventory movements accurately.
- Perform basic equipment repairs or report maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational safety.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including documentation and inventory checks.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring they are stored securely and organised systematically.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift within a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques, including load securing and stacking.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, including documentation and stock management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory counting and measurements.
- Previous warehouse experience demonstrating organisational skills and attention to detail is preferred.
