Chequers Transport (Bedford) Ltd are seeking reliable and professional HGV Drivers to join our growing transport team at the Fareham/Hampshire site. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
· 5 - 6 DAYS ALTERNATE WEEKLY SHIFT PATTERN (Tues -Sat / Mon -Sat)
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 2 years experience as a delivery driver, is able to work in a busy environment and deliver goods to customers with care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV vehicles in accordance with road traffic laws and company procedures.
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections efficiently and on time.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Ensure all paperwork, delivery notes, and digital records are completed accurately.
- Load and unload vehicles where required, ensuring loads are secure and transported safely.
- Adhere to drivers' hours regulations, tachograph rules, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers and colleagues.

- Valid HGV Class (Category C) licence.
- Current Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good knowledge of UK driving regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous HGV driving experience preferred, although newly qualified drivers may be considered.
