Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals aged 14 - 18 preparing them through the transition of children to adult services.
The role also leads to the opportunity of working in our outreach programme supporting people in the community with everyday needs.
Positions Available
2 x Support Workers ( 2 x 24hour shifts per week 9am-9am sleeping in the property)
Example of a working week
Monday: 9am -11pm (sleep in the property)
Tuesday: 7am-9am
Wednesday: off
Thursday: off
Friday: 9am-11pm (sleep in the property)
Saturday:7am-9am
Sunday: off
(Please note, during quiet periods hours may differ)
Person Specification
- Genuine interest in working within a domiciliary environment
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes and self-development
- A relevant social care wales qualification/QCF/ NVQ (desirable)
- Full UK drivers license
Experience
- Previous experience in a support worker role would be desirable but not essential (full training will be provided)
- Experience of working with young people
Responsibilities
- Support young people in their home and the community with food shopping and assisting in managing their finances
- Maintaining the property communal area's to a high homely standard
- Communicating to external agencies i.e. Social Workers, police, family members
- Completing detailed paperwork daily.
- Encourage young people to engage in activities
