New Leaf Dental is an independent 7-surgery mixed NHS and private dental practice in Bournemouth.
We place a strong emphasis on prevention, periodontal health, and teamwork between dentists, hygienists, and therapists. You’ll be supported by a dedicated dental nurse throughout your sessions, ensuring efficiency and a high standard of patient care.
The Principal Dentist is currently undertaking an MSc in Periodontology at the University of Plymouth, reflecting the practice’s commitment to periodontal excellence and evidence-based preventive care. You’ll be joining an established, busy hygiene list with a loyal and motivated patient base.
Role Summary
We are looking for a caring and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team for 2-3 Saturdays per month. This role involves providing high-quality hygiene and periodontal care to both NHS and private patients, focusing on prevention, patient motivation, and long-term periodontal stability.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive dental hygiene treatment including scaling, polishing, and periodontal therapy
· Deliver non-surgical periodontal treatment and supportive maintenance for periodontal patients (in line with BSP guidance)
· Use the EMS Airflow system for advanced biofilm management and minimally invasive prophylaxis (top up payments available for using the Airflow)
· Educate and motivate patients on effective oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
· Maintain accurate, detailed, and contemporaneous clinical records
· Collaborate closely with dentists, nurses, and reception staff to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
· GDC registration as a Dental Hygienist
· Indemnity insurance in place
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred care
· Enthusiastic, reliable, and a genuine team player
· Experience in mixed NHS/private environments preferred (not essential)

Pay: £40.25-£43.75 per hour
Expected hours: 4.5 per week
