Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Room Lead to oversee and support the daily operations within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with a passion for working with young children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of children in a nurturing environment, ensuring high standards of childcare and early childhood education are maintained. The successful applicant will be responsible for guiding a team of early years practitioners, planning engaging activities, and fostering a safe, inclusive space for learning and growth.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the early years team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality childcare delivery
- Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote developmental milestones
- Monitor children's progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with regulatory standards
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children within the nursery environment at all times
- Foster effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment that adheres to health and safety regulations
- Support new staff members through training and induction programmes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the nursery setting
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong background working with children, ideally with nursery or early childhood education experience
- Relevant childcare qualifications recognised by local regulatory bodies (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities
- Passionate about child development, safety, and creating an inclusive environment for all children
