Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery and Out of School Club Third in Charge to join our vibrant childcare team. This leadership role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our nursery and out-of-school programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, childcare, and classroom management, with a passion for fostering children's development and well-being. Responsibilities
- Lead the team in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Support daily routines including meal times, naps, and play activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, implementing positive behavior management strategies
- Supervise children both indoors and outdoors, maintaining a vigilant presence at all times
- Support children with special educational needs or disabilities, providing tailored care as required
- Contribute to maintaining accurate records of children's progress and attendance
- Assist in staff supervision and mentoring during shifts, helping to create a cohesive team environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance childcare skills and knowledge
- Step into leadership roles when necessary, ensuring smooth daily operations in the absence of senior staff
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting is essential
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
- Experience with infants, toddlers, and school-aged children preferred
- Familiarity with special education needs and working with children with disabilities is advantageous
- Certification in first aid is highly desirable
- Background in early childhood education or related fields such as teaching or caregiving enhances suitability for this role
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members in a nurturing and professional manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.40-£14.90 per hour
