Caramello is one of Didsbury’s busiest independent brunch cafés, renowned for exceptional food, outstanding speciality coffee and genuine customer service. We’re looking for an experienced Restaurant Supervisor / Head Barista who leads by example, thrives under pressure and is passionate about delivering memorable customer experiences.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy service. If you’re looking for a management position where you simply delegate tasks, this isn’t the role for you. We believe great leaders work alongside their team and set the standard every day.
The Role
As Restaurant Supervisor / Head Barista, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the restaurant, inspire the Front of House team and ensure every guest leaves having received exceptional service. You’ll confidently lead shifts, support the management team and help maintain the high standards that Caramello is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Front of House service and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Be fully competent in every aspect of Front of House service.
- Prepare consistently excellent speciality coffees to a high standard.
- Produce professional latte art with confidence.
- Train, coach and motivate team members to deliver outstanding service.
- Lead shifts in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
- Create a positive, energetic and supportive working environment.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Liaise effectively with the kitchen to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and reducing waste.
- Ensure all food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures are followed.
- Contribute ideas for menu specials, seasonal offerings and continuous improvement.
- Help recruit, develop and support new team members.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience supervising a busy café or restaurant.
- Strong barista experience with excellent coffee knowledge.
- The ability to consistently produce high-quality latte art.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A calm and positive approach during busy services.
- A genuine passion for hospitality.
- Confidence making decisions and taking responsibility when leading shifts.
- A proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Reliability, honesty and professionalism.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to support the whole team.
