CCTV / SIA Retail Security Officer – Newport, Wales Location NP19 4QQ – Newport Retail Park
Role Overview
We are seeking a professional and proactive SIA-licensed Retail Security Officer to join our team at a busy retail park in Newport, Wales.
The role includes CCTV monitoring, incident response, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers, tenants and staff.
Key Responsibilities
CCTV Monitoring: Actively monitor security camera systems to identify suspicious behaviour, safety hazards, and incidents.
Incident Response: Provide prompt and effective responses to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies across the retail park.
Patrolling: Perform regular internal and external patrols to deter theft, antisocial behaviour, and safety risks.
Liaison with Police & Emergency
Services: Work collaboratively with local police, fire services, and other emergency responders when required.
Report Writing: Complete accurate incident reports, log entries, and daily activity reports.
Communications: Handle emails, telephone calls, and maintain clear communication with management and retail tenants.
Customer Service: Engage professionally with members of the public, providing assistance when needed.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines, security protocols, an company procedures.
General Security Duties: Support all aspects of site security, including access control, loss prevention, and safeguarding of property.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Licence – Door Supervisor and CCTV Licence are essential
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective during incidents
- Previous experience in retail or CCTV security (preferred but not essential)
- Full-time availability
- Flexibility to work both day and night shifts, including weekends
Pay & Shift Details
Pay Rate: £12.96 per hour
Shift Times: 07:00 – 19:00 (Days)
Shifts: Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (Plus overtime)
