Job Summary
MKR Recovery are seeking a reliable and experienced Vehicle Recovery Drivers to join our team at our Medway and Sandwich Depots. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely transporting and recovering vehicles using specialised equipment. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various recovery situations efficiently. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a dynamic environment, ensuring vehicles are recovered and delivered promptly.
Vehicle Recovery is a 24/7/365 and there are numerous shift patterns available, which include weekend shifts.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other specialised recovery vehicles to retrieve and deliver vehicles safely.
- Respond promptly to recovery calls, assessing each situation to determine the appropriate recovery method.
- Secure vehicles using appropriate mechanical knowledge and equipment, ensuring safe transportation.
- Conduct routine inspections of recovery vehicles and equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding recovery status and vehicle conditions.
- Assist with yard tasks related to vehicle storage or movement when required.
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries, including mileage, vehicle condition, and delivery details.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly flatbed or recovery lorries.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to vehicle recovery operations is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
- Valid CPC and Tacho Card.
Pay: £13.75-£15.00 per hour
