We are The Warren – a historic Grade II listed manor house, and home to the Metropolitan Police Hayes Sports Club, nestled within 22 acres of green space in Bromley. For decades, our space has been a much-loved cornerstone of the local community.
We host all kinds of events and occasions such as weddings, conferences, and parties, served by our in-house kitchen, The Warren Bar, and The Conservatory Cafe. Our eight distinctive function rooms, manicured grounds, and warm hospitality inspire connection and cherished memories.
About the Role
As our Head of Grounds and Maintenance, you will be responsible for:
- Groundskeeping (gardens, sports pitches, landscaping, external areas)
- Building repairs and maintenance
- Reactive issues (leaks, broken doors, heating problems, etc.)
- Site presentation and condition
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the grounds team, setting daily priorities and standards
- Plan, schedule, and deliver grounds, maintenance and seasonal works
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety, environmental, and legal requirements
- Carry out risk assessments and promote safe working practices
- Manage grounds budgets, resources, and stock control
- Oversee the safe use, maintenance, and servicing of machinery and equipment
- Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and value for money
- Respond to grounds-related issues, inspections, and emergencies
About You
You will be someone who:
- Proven experience in grounds and maintenance management
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of horticulture and machinery
- Proactive, safety-focused, and solutions-driven

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £36,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Facilities maintenance: 4 years (preferred)
- Groundskeeping: 4 years (preferred)
