Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 1 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving, particularly those familiar with curtain operations and delivery services. The position is full-time and involves operating large vehicles in a variety of environments, maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
The job is Monday to Friday, the type of job is pick up preloaded trailer from the Seatruck port of Liverpool, 1 delivery, 1 collection and drop in the same port. You work with the application on the phone, where you receive a round trip ahead of time, so you can schedule your work day yourself. We only hire with LTD.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including flatbed vehicles, in accordance with road safety laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo, especially when handling flatbed loads.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while complying with legal driving hours.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, vehicle logs, and compliance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during driving and loading/unloading procedures.
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E entitlement).
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and customer service skills.
- Good knowledge of road regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- Ability to operate large vehicles safely in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients.
- A clean driving licence with no serious endorsements or penalties.
