About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi Trade Operative to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have strong plumbing and carpentry experience, with the ability to carry out a variety of maintenance, repair, and refurbishment works across residential and commercial properties.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and who can work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works.
- Undertake a range of tasks with a primary focus on:
- Plumbing
- Carpentry and Joinery
- Support with additional trade works where required, including:
- Tiling
- Plastering
- Painting and Decorating
- Basic Roofing Repairs
- Brickwork
- Glazing
- External and Ground Works
- Aids and Adaptations (ADA)
- Basic Electrical Works
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Complete and document risk assessments.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, clients, and colleagues.
- Accurately complete job reports and associated paperwork.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative or similar role.
- Strong plumbing and carpentry skills are essential.
- Ability to undertake a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Own hand and power tools.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and reliability.
- CSCS Card preferred but not essential.
- A valid DBS certificate is essential. Candidates must hold a current DBS check and be able to provide proof prior to starting.
Desirable Experience
- Social housing or property maintenance experience.
- Basic electrical qualifications.
- Experience using handheld job management systems.
Employment Structure
- Initial temporary assignment with the opportunity to become permanent.
- Telephone interview process.
- 1–2 weeks shadowing during onboarding.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Candidates should allow sufficient travel time to ensure punctuality.
Overtime and Call-Out
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Call-out rota approximately 1 week in every 7.

- Time and a half
- Standby payment
