Trainee Driller
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Driller to join a growing and supportive services team operating within quarry and construction environments. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in a hands-on, outdoor role with full training and progression provided.
The Role
As a Trainee Driller, you will learn to operate specialist drilling equipment and support the delivery of safe and efficient drilling operations. Working alongside experienced Drillers and Supervisors, you will gain the skills and knowledge required to carry out drilling activities in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe operation of drilling rigs under supervision
- Learn how to maintain and inspect equipment in line with safety standards
- Support the team in delivering drilling programmes efficiently
- Accurately record and communicate basic drilling information
- Work closely with Supervisors and site teams to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all health & safety and environmental procedures at all times
- Represent the business professionally on customer sites
- Work towards relevant qualifications and maintain training records
Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
- Any experience in construction, quarrying, or manual work
- Interest in plant machinery or mechanical environments
