Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Night Driver to join our team. Run would cover Erith, London to Leicester and back., estimated 10 hours per shift.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating double deck lorries during night shifts, ensuring timely delivery of goods across designated routes. This role requires a professional approach to driving, excellent organisational skills, and adherence to all safety regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on punctuality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 flatbed lorries during night hours, adhering to all road safety laws and company policies.
- Load and secure goods onto the flatbed, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety compliance.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, maintaining punctuality throughout the shift.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Ensure cargo is delivered in good condition, handling goods with care during loading and unloading processes.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, including vehicle maintenance and road safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid right to work in the UK
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Ability to work night shifts reliably and independently.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle checks.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with dispatch teams and clients. This role is ideal for experienced drivers seeking a night-time position that values professionalism, safety, and punctuality within the logistics sector.
Pay: £46,800.00 per year
