Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting our residents. This role offers an opportunity to lead and supervise care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care plans. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs, and previous experience in senior care settings is essential. The Senior Carer will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all residents.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of carers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation of care provided
- Foster positive relationships with residents to promote dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Coordinate transport arrangements for appointments or outings as required
- Support training and development of junior staff members to uphold high standards of care
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, residents, and families to ensure transparency and trust
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home or senior care environment
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and safeguarding procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Driving experience with a valid licence is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to travel as needed is essential
