We are looking for a Workshop Operative who will relish the opportunity to support the making team to create top quality furniture and kitchens in beautiful materials. We need someone with an eye for detail, an obsession with doing things ‘the right way’, and happy being on the road.
This is a diverse role offering both hands-on workshop contributions as well as completing all company deliveries. We mainly operate within the South-East of England, but deliveries can often take us further afield.
As Workshop Operative, you will be responsible for
- Receiving goods-in and quality checking items to ensure they match purchase orders and are in good condition
- Loading and performing frequent deliveries to partner businesses and project sites to set schedules
- Managing stock and inventory, ensuring parts are stored correctly to aid ordering
- Picking component parts/materials against workshop drawings for live projects
- Preparing and packaging items for delivery to site for installation
- Ensure that all materials are clearly identified, stored and sorted correctly
- Management of packaging materials and sundries
- Ability to to request quotations from suppliers, seek out best value, place orders and monitor low stock
- Supporting monthly and end of year stock takes
- Provide support to other team members and departments during busy times to meet the needs of the business
- General workshop housekeeping
Some of the skills we are looking for include:
- Experience working in a workshop/warehouse environment
- An enthusiastic approach to work
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
- Computer literacy (training will be given on specific programs wherever required).
- Hold a clean UK driving licence
- Confident with manual handling and organisational tasks
- Self-motivation and initiative
