Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and dependable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent vehicle condition. Responsibilities
- Safely operate curtainside lorries for the transportation of goods to designated locations.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Secure cargo properly on the trailers to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for immediate action.
Qualifications
- Valid Category C+E (or equivalent) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed or specialised vehicle operation experience.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability in meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Ability to operate lorries safely and efficiently under various weather conditions.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients.
