Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, shipping and receiving processes, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Duties
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload materials from lorries.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
- Assist in equipment repair as necessary, utilising mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform basic maths calculations for inventory management and stocktaking activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repairs when needed.
- Competence in basic maths for inventory tracking and reporting purposes.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in materials handling.
- A proactive approach to safety, ensuring compliance with all operational guidelines.

Competitive salary based on a standard 37.5 hour working week, however there is regular overtime paid at time and a half giving the opportunity to increase base pay.
