About the Role
Apple Taxis is looking for a friendly, professional and customer-focused individual to join our Operations Team as a Night Telephonist/Controller.
We are much more than just a call centre. We provide an essential transport service to thousands of customers every day, and our team plays a vital role in ensuring every journey runs smoothly.

No previous taxi industry experience is required as full training will be provided. You'll initially be trained to answer customer calls and accurately enter bookings before progressing into a Controller role, dispatching work to drivers and helping to manage our live operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
- Providing outstanding customer service to every caller.
- Accurately entering bookings into our computer dispatch system.
- Assisting customers with enquiries, journey updates and general information.
- Working closely with drivers to ensure bookings are completed efficiently.
- Progressing to dispatching vehicles and managing bookings once fully trained.
- Maintaining accurate records and following company procedures.
A Fast-Paced Operational Environment
This is not a typical office role. Our Operations Centre is the heart of a busy 24-hour taxi business, where every call matters and no two shifts are ever the same.
The phones can be busy throughout your shift, priorities can change within seconds, and you'll often be managing multiple tasks at once while remaining calm, professional and focused. You'll be speaking with customers, assisting drivers and working as part of a close-knit team to keep our operation running smoothly.

Flexibility is Essential
Apple Taxis operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing an essential transport service to our community.
Because of this, applicants must be fully flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including:
- Evenings
- Overnight shifts
- Early mornings
- Weekends
- Bank Holidays
- Public Holidays
Typical shifts include:
- 18:00 – 00:00
- 18:00 – 02:00
- 18:00 – 04:00
- 18:00 – 06:00
Overtime opportunities are regularly available.

Essential Requirements
- GCSE or equivalent.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Preferred
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience working in an office or fast-paced operational environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
