Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Telehandler Operator to join our construction and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers to safely and efficiently move materials around the site. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, commercial driving experience, and familiarity with excavators. The ideal applicant will be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Operate telehandlers to lift, move, and position materials accurately across the site
- Conduct routine safety checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with loading and unloading lorries, ensuring materials are handled securely
- Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate material delivery schedules
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support with the operation of excavators when required, demonstrating mechanical knowledge
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns promptly to supervisors
Requirements
- Proven experience in operating telehandlers in a construction or industrial environment
- Commercial driving licence (CPC) or equivalent qualification is essential
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery, including excavators and telehandlers
- Prior experience with excavator operation is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
