Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) is an umbrella term describing a variety of experiences including those often termed as ‘Personality Disorder’.
In this pilot project clients will be referred to our service from the NHS Complex Emotional Needs Service, Acute Inpatient Services, Community Mental Health Services, and the IAPT’s ‘Let’s Talk’ service. Many of our clients will report traumatic personal histories and have an existing diagnosis of BPD/EUPD, or characteristics of the condition. Clients may demonstrate pervasive patterns of instability in regulation of emotions, identity confusion, suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, conflict in interpersonal relationships, and impulsive behaviour.
