The Role
We are seeking a Civil Solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team. This is a varied role involving both litigation and advisory work, with the opportunity to take on challenging cases across different sectors. You will be managing your own caseload as well as assisting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters.
Areas of Work Covered
- Contract and commercial disputes
- Debt recovery and insolvency proceedings
- Professional negligence claims
- Property and land disputes, including landlord & tenant, boundary, nuisance and trespass matters
- Contentious probate, including will challenges and estate disputes
- Civil fraud and misrepresentation claims
- Interim applications, injunctions and urgent relief
- International and cross-border disputes
Key Responsibilities
- Running a mixed caseload of litigation and dispute resolution matters
- Providing clear, practical advice to clients from instruction to resolution
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and legal submissions
- Attending hearings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
- Ensuring cases are managed efficiently, with compliance to all regulatory requirements
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to business development
Key Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with a valid Practising Certificate
- Solid experience in civil/commercial litigation, ideally including contested probate
- Strong drafting and case management skills
- Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent client care, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
