Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about gardening and horticulture, with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Responsibilities
- Assisting customers in selecting gardening products, plants, and horticultural supplies
- Providing expert advice on plant care, gardening techniques, and product usage
- Organising and merchandising stock to maximise visual appeal and sales
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the sales floor and storage areas
- Processing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Supporting inventory management through stock replenishment and stocktaking
- Engaging with customers in multiple languages (e.g., English, Spanish) to enhance service quality
- Promoting special offers, seasonal products, and gardening workshops or events
- Assisting with organising gardening demonstrations or workshops when required
Skills
- Multilingual abilities, particularly fluency in English and Spanish, are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse customers
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, or related fields is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills to manage stock and maintain a tidy sales environment
- Experience in merchandising to create attractive displays that encourage sales
- Passion for plants, gardening, or outdoor living products
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when necessary
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a friendly demeanour
