As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef in leading the kitchen operation, helping to maintain the standards that have earned the inn its 2AA Rosettes.
Serving up to 100 covers at lunch and around 50 covers during dinner service, this is a busy and rewarding role requiring strong organisation, excellent communication, and a passion for fresh food.
As Sous Chef you will:
- Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the brigade during service
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality and presentation
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
- Manage stock control, ordering, and food cost targets
- Train and mentor junior members of the team
- Ensure all food hygiene and health and safety procedures are followed
- Take responsibility for service and kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
The ideal candidate will have a strong fresh food background and previous experience within Rosette-level kitchens, gastro pubs, or quality hotel environments.
