We are looking for an experienced Addication Therapist to join our Addiction Service
Job Overview
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance dependence. Providing specialist support for mental health conditions and addictions. Having 12 step experience would be beneficial as well, but not essential.
Duties
1. To provide effective leadership and direction to staff, including regular and effective supervision, annual appraisal and personal development for all employees.
2. Routinely monitor staff performing to ensure excellent client care and address areas of underperformance using appropriate mechanisms eg. Coaching, capability, disciplinary etc.
3. Allocate clients to therapists
4. To undertake client admissions to the residential service in a friendly, welcoming manner that complies with the company's client admission procedures
5. To undertake the comprehensive therapeutic assessment upon admission to the unit and ensure this remains a live document, reviewed and revised as required during the client's treatment program.
6. In conjunction with the client, co-produce and maintain an up-to-date, robust care plan, specifying the treatment goals and tailored interventions that will assist the client's full recovery and a successful discharge from the company's care
7. To accurately document a daily record of client care; ensuring that all relevant documentation including case notes, data base records, attendance forms, risk assessments, etc are maintained in line with excellent company record keeping standards as laid down.
8. To identify and facilitate a range of interventions and therapies that will support the client's treatment goals and maintain an ongoing review of their effectiveness and impact for the duration of the treatment programme
9. To undertake and maintain a comprehensive (and accurate) risk assessment and management plan for clients throughout their treatment programme
10. To support and deliver a safe, clinical treatment regime as directed by Company's Clinical Prescribing Protocols/Clinicians and National Institute for Clinical Prescibing {NICE) guidance for drug and alcohol dependency
11. To plan, organise and facilitate a therapeutic group programme to clients within the context of the residential programme
12. To facilitate one-to-one therapy sessions for clients. Undertaking required assessments, and making appropriate notes in client files
13. To support and participate fully in robust and effective client care handovers with other members of the Recovery Team at the beginning and end of each shift and maintain excellent levels of ongoing communication with colleagues about significant client care issues
14. To liaise as appropriate with families, other professionals or significant others in order to ensure proper management of client care during and after discharge
15. To provide effective discharge planning with clients and broker ongoing support and interventions prior to their discharge as necessary to secure excellent and sustained recovery outcomes
Experience
- Proven experience working as an Addiction Therapist or in a similar mental health or substance abuse counselling role.
- The successful candidate will be registered with (working towards accreditation) with a relevant body.
- Strong communication skills, capable of building trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide clients through their recovery process effectively.
- Experience in creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of current addiction treatment methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating professionalism and empathy at all times. Pay: £33,280.00 per year
