Job Overview
Paper Wings Café (Leicester) is looking for an experienced Barista with a genuine passion for specialty coffee to join our team full-time. This isn't an entry-level role — we need someone who can already pull a proper shot and pour confident latte art from day one.
Why Work With Us
We're not just a café — we're also the official UK agent for WPM coffee machines. Working here means:
- First access to try the newest WPM machines, grinders, and coffee equipment before they hit the market
- The chance to explore and experiment with different brewing tools and setups alongside us
- We're planning coffee workshops (latte art, brewing techniques, and more) — a great platform if you enjoy sharing or developing your skills further
- Genuine, generous tips through our POS system — our team has been pleasantly surprised by how much this adds on top of wages
If you're someone who's genuinely into coffee — not just making it, but curious about the craft, the machines, the whole thing — this is a place where you can keep learning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare consistent, high-quality espresso-based drinks and pour confident latte art
- Deliver warm, attentive customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Handle cash/till transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and equipment
- Support with stock and daily operations as needed
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
Requirements
- Genuine specialty coffee / barista experience required — this role is not suitable for beginners, and full training will not be provided from scratch
- Confident, consistent latte art
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in the quality of their work
- Happy to commute daily to Leicester, or willing to relocate to Leicester
