Job Summary
El Camino is a Mediterranean-inspired bistro with a strong focus on warm hospitality, fresh food, and an exciting drinks offering built around cocktails, Mediterranean wines, vermouths, and sherries.
We are looking for a passionate, energetic Bartender to join our team — someone who is either already skilled with cocktails or eager to learn and grow into the role. This position is perfect for someone who loves working with flavour, enjoys creating drinks with personality, and is happy to work as part of the wider Front of House team.
You’ll run the bar with confidence, help develop drinks, and also support table service by delivering drinks and engaging with guests — ensuring every part of the El Camino experience feels warm, polished, and memorable.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, beers, coffees, and other beverages to a high standard.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the El Camino drinks menu, including classic cocktails and our Mediterranean-inspired specials.
- Deliver drinks to tables as part of our table service approach.
- Provide friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable service to guests at the bar and in the restaurant.
- Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and maintaining accurate levels behind the bar.
- Keep the bar area organised, clean, and fully prepared for service.
- Collaborate with the Front of House team to ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the venue.
- Support café service during daytime hours when required (coffees, simple drinks, pastries).
- Help create, test, and refine new cocktails and aperitifs.
- Follow all licensing laws, health & safety procedures, and responsible service guidelines.
Experience Required
- Previous bar experience is preferred but not essential if you have a real enthusiasm for cocktails and hospitality.
- Any experience with cocktail making, specialty drinks, or independent bars is a bonus.
- Comfortable working both behind the bar and as part of the floor team.
- Experience with table service or restaurant environments is desirable.
- Must be confident working evenings and weekends.
