Harris Paws is a professional pet care company established in 2015. We specialise in one-to-one dog walking and dedicated pet care, providing a truly personalised service by getting to know each animal and tailoring our care to suit their individual needs.
We are currently looking for a reliable, experienced, and passionate individual to support our dog walking and pet care services in Shepton Mallet and surrounding areas.
The Role
- One-to-one dog walks (dogs from the same household only)
- Training Walks
- Grooming Services
- Walking a maximum of 3 dogs at a time from the same household
- Pet care services as required
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Representing Harris Paws professionally when interacting with clients and the public
Hours & Availability
- Variable hours depending on demand
- Estimated 0–7 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during busy periods, holidays, or sickness cover
- Weekday availability is essential, particularly lunchtimes
Pay & Contract
- £12.21 per hour
- Self-employed, part-time role
- Pay dependent on walks completed
- Will be required to travel in-between clients addresses
Minimum Requirements
- Must live in Shepton Mallet or within a 2-mile radius
- Must have reliable transport suitable for dogs, including a dog guard or dog seat belts
- Confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Willing to undertake a DBS check
Ideally, You Will Have:
- Experience working with dogs (not just owning them)
- Relevant qualifications within the dog or animal care industry (desirable but not essential)
- A professional and friendly manner when dealing with the public
- A self-motivated and dependable approach to work
- Good communication skills
