The role of Medical Receptionist is an essential part of our Practice team. You will be working alongside reception colleagues ,clinical and management teams, providing help and support to our patient population.
You will provide administration support and facilitate the smooth running of clinics.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills, and have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team, within a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential along with being an effective team player.
Main duties of the job
Role Requirements
· Undertake tasks and duties delegated by the management team
· Greet patients and visitors to the practice, ensuring the appointment system is run efficiently; monitor the flow of patients to and from consultation rooms.
· Check alerts on the patient’s record and take action e.g.: update smoking status/ book appointment for Diabetic review/ Flu vaccine etc.
· Register patients for online services to access their records/order prescriptions/book and cancel appointments
· Deal with telephone enquiries within the capacity of Receptionist.
· Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
· Demonstrates an understanding of General Practice
