Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Trainee Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an entry-level graduate role designed for someone at the start of their financial career; the most important elements we are looking for are a strong academic background, a genuine eagerness to learn, and the energy to make the most of a great training opportunity.
Don’t worry if you haven’t managed finance processes before; we will teach you everything you need to know. You will be supported every step of the way with full ACA/ACCA/CIMA study support towards your professional accounting qualification and a team around you invested in your development.
What You’ll Be Getting Involved In
As you settle in and develop your skills under our mentorship, you’ll get exposure to a wide range of core finance activities, including:
- Accounts Payable: Helping to process supplier invoices and supporting weekly payment runs.
- Systems Management: Checking invoices for accuracy and mastering our core accounting and finance systems.
- Supplier Relations: Assisting with supplier payments and understanding how we manage commercial relationships.
- Internal Communication: Being a helpful point of contact for our studio teams who have day-to-day finance queries.
- Bookkeeping: Getting stuck into regular bank reconciliations and foundational bookkeeping tasks.
- Month-End Support: Supporting management accounting and month-end processes as your confidence grows.
- Payroll Administration: Helping out with payroll administration (no prior experience needed; full training given).
- Ad Hoc Projects: Picking up analytical tasks and ad hoc finance projects as your technical skills develop.
About You (Requirements)
Above all, we are looking for the right attitude. Curious, hardworking, and keen to learn. The technical skills can be taught; the drive has to come from you. You will also have:
- Academic Background: A strong academic foundation, including a degree from a top-tier university and strong A-Levels. All degree disciplines are considered, but you must be able to demonstrate a clear affinity for numbers and logic.
- Professional Ambition: A genuine desire to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA). Any partial exam progress is a bonus, but not essential.
- Attention to Detail: An analytical mindset, a good head for numbers, and sharp attention to detail.
- Communication: A friendly, can-do approach with the confidence to communicate financial data clearly to people across the wider business.
- Tech Literacy: Basic Excel skills and a natural willingness to get to grips with new software and systems.
- Industry Interest: A genuine personal interest in health, fitness, or wellness.
We are passionate about the boutique fitness industry, and we’d love to find someone who shares that enthusiasm and is excited to be part of what we’re building.
