Senior Accountant
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work within a leading Accountancy Practice, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients within a modern, progressive practice. The role focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and excellent client service while supporting the firm’s growth and adopting new technologies and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Accountant
- Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, acting as a primary point of contact
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Oversee preparation and submission of corporation tax returns, self‑assessment returns, and VAT returns
- Review bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by junior staff
- Provide proactive advice on tax planning, business structure, and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior team members
- Support process improvements and adoption of new systems and technologies
- Assist with onboarding new clients and contributing to practice development
- Work closely with partners to support strategic initiatives and client growth plans
Skills and Experience Required
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification (or QBE with strong practice background)
- Significant experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and relevant tax legislation
- Proficiency with cloud‑based systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and digital workflow tools
- Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience supervising or developing junior staff

Pay: £36,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
