PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £115,000 + London Weighting (£5,441) + 25% Bonus, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
Reporting into the VP Digital Growth & Strategy, the Group Sales Director will be the commercial engine behind BBC Studios’ next era of digital growth. This role blends creative instinct with commercial firepower - shaping big ideas and showcasing the quality inventory that only BBC Studios can deliver.
You will lead the Brand Partnerships and Partner Ad sales teams, selling market-defining branded content and sponsorship solutions, alongside partner (you tube pre-roll & social) ad inventory. You will position BBC Studios as a Tier 1 strategic partner for brands and agencies. This is a role for someone who can sell with authority, think with imagination, and build with intent.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT :
Drive revenue and performance accountability
Hold full responsibility for branded content and partner sales revenue targets, KPIs and forecasting - sharing updates regularly, opportunities and mitigations with senior leadership.
Create and execute a high-impact commercial growth plan for your markets
Develop and instil the growth strategy and shape the team structure to deliver it.
Own key client and agency relationships
Build quality pipelines, nurture relationships, and convert opportunities into multi-year business across key clients and agency (senior leadership and investment teams)
Deliver market-leading pitches
Lead the team to deliver compelling, ambitious proposals that win briefs, deepen partnerships, and showcase the full breadth of what BBC Studios can offer
Cocreate a world-class commercial product suite
Define the next generation of BBC Studios’ digital partnership products - giving advertisers distinctive access to our global fandoms, premium IP and multi-platform reach that is competitively priced and positioned.
Champion the commercial potential of our IP
Work cross-functionally to align stakeholders and ensure our global catalogue — from global franchises to emerging brands — is activated and monetised to its full potential
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL CRIERTIA:
Proven success selling multi-platform, content-led partnerships as well as video inventory.
You have a track record of building, pricing and selling ideas that span social, digital, experiential, talent, and broadcast - with a strong grasp of how branded content delivers against brand, performance, and audience objectives
Experience leading high-performing sales teams
You know how to set direction, coach talent, motivate through ambiguity, and build a culture that wins. You inspire confidence internally and externally
Developed industry network and strong commercial instinct
Well-connected across agencies, clients and platforms, you’re comfortable negotiating at senior levels and navigating complex deal structures - from sponsorships to multi-year brand platforms
Strong record of innovation and commercial creativity
You can design and price commercial products and partnership frameworks that tap into audience behaviour on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and emerging formats. You understand how to build things that scale - not just respond to briefs
Deep understanding of digital ecosystems and social video
You bring curiosity, expertise and passion for how platforms evolve - creator economy, fan engagement, commerce integrations, data signals, format trends - and can translate this into partnership value
Financial acumen and confidence with revenue ownership
You can manage pipelines, forecast accurately, build pricing strategies, and structure deals that drive sustainable growth
Exceptional communicator and relationship builder
You can influence at all levels - from CMOs to internal creative leads - and present with clarity, conviction and warmth
A natural motivator and doer
You cut through complexity, move teams forward, unlock blockers, and ensure ideas turn into delivery. You bring energy, resilience and a solutions-first mindset
Ideally, experience working with premium IP, fandoms or entertainment brands
Not required, but highly valuable - especially understanding how to commercialise talent, formats, and global franchises.
