Key Account Manager – South Normanton
Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 + Quarterly Bonus
We're recruiting for an experienced Key Account Manager to join a leading fleet services provider. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, relationship-driven professional who can lead teams, manage high-value clients, and deliver exceptional service standards. If you're a fluent German speaker, we are particularly keen to hear from you, and the salary may be increased for the right candidate.

The Role:
As a Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of major client relationships, ensuring service delivery is consistently high while driving operational performance. You will lead a team of maintenance controllers, oversee ongoing projects, and act as the main escalation point for your accounts.
This Key Account Manager role requires someone confident, organised, and commercially aware, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deliver strategic improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for key clients, managing enquiries, escalations, and service delivery
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Ensure internal and external KPIs are consistently achieved
- Prepare and present MI packs, performance reports, and insights during review meetings
- Oversee ongoing projects and ensure timely delivery through regular client touchpoints
- Lead and support a team of maintenance controllers
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a unified approach to client management
- Monitor service quality and proactively resolve delivery issues
- Integrate client feedback into continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Conduct 6-monthly performance reviews and support team development
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programmes
- Support senior leadership with reporting, insights, and operational tasks
Key Competencies:
- Proven leadership experience within fleet operations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple key accounts with effective prioritisation
- High levels of integrity and accountability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and fleet management software
Essential Experience:
- Background in fleet operations within logistics, transport, or fleet management
- Strong understanding of UK transport regulations, Operator Licensing, and health & safety
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
Preferred:
- German speaking (highly advantageous)
