What you'll do:
To ensure that new roads offered for adoption to the Highway Authority under S38 and changes to existing public highway under S278, are designed and constructed to Highway Authority standards
- Undertake the evaluation of externally designed Section 38 & 278 Technical Engineering Schemes on behalf of internal and external clients to ensure the Highway Asset meets Regional and National Design Specification and Safety Standards.
- Work with developers, consultants and stakeholders to achieve Technical Approvals in accordance with Regional and National Design Specification and Safety Standards in order to secure Legal Agreements under Section 38 & 278 of the Highways Act.
- Coordinate with and carry out inspections as appropriate with the Adoption Engineers to inspect works for technical compliance.
Adhere to Health and Safety management systems, processes and requirements ensuring full adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice and safeguarding staff contractors and members of the public.

What we're seeking:
- HNC in Civil Engineering or a related subject and post qualification relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards, contracts, and procedures.
Knowledge of all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
